June Newsletter 2023

Dear Residents,

A very busy summer is in full swing in Pigeon. Thanks to all of the volunteers that helped to put on the boys and girls baseball and softball tournaments next weekend at Recreation Park. A record 42 teams competed in the Friday through Sunday tournament.

Also, a huge thanks to Scheurer Health for putting on the free concert on Friday, June 2nd at the band shell. Food trucks were at the park, and nice door prizes were given away by Scheurer Health.

Girl’s and boy’s baseball, softball, and T-ball leagues are in full swing nightly at the park. Our Summer Recreation Program began on June 5th with 60 kids participating. Repairs have been completed to seal cracks on the pickleball and basketball courts. A new net has been installed for the tennis court.

In the very near future, MDOT (fix the darn roads!) will be paving from the downtown intersection, South Main street, all the way to M142 and West Michigan from the downtown intersection to Caseville Road. This will be done at no cost to the Village.

The Municipal Parking lot by the Village Hall will be completely replaced with new asphalt in a joint project by the Village and Winsor Township. The ground millings will be used at the Pigeon Event Center to expand the parking lot on the south side of the building another 65 feet. All of these projects are scheduled to be done before our 50th Farmers Summerfest on July 20-23.

Have a great summer!

Sincerely,
Michael LePage
Village President
