June Newsletter 2026
Dear Residents,
Welcome to summer! It is wonderful to finally see some warmer weather arrive.
There is a lot happening in the Village of Pigeon this summer as we welcome visitors for the Johnny T. Classic Baseball and Softball Tournaments. This outstanding event brings more than 3,000 people to our community to enjoy our exceptional recreation facilities and ballpark. A sincere thank you goes out to all of the volunteers whose hard work makes this tournament possible each year.
Our new playscape is now complete and fully operational. It has been great to see so many children enjoying the new equipment. Thanks to the generosity and support of our community, this exciting project has become a reality.
Our Summer Recreation Program is also ready to begin, with more than 80 children signed up to participate. A huge thank you to Scheurer Hospital for partnering with the Village to help make this program possible. Activities will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at our Recreation Park, and we have a great lineup planned for the summer.
We are also excited to welcome a variety of musical acts to the Bandshell throughout the season. Please see the schedule of events, which will also be displayed on the new electronic sign at the Bandshell. Thank you to the Bandshell Committee for providing 35 years of outstanding summer entertainment for our community.
Our Department of Public Works is busy with several summer improvement projects. Beginning Monday, June 8, street paving will take place on East Michigan Avenue, Clabuesch Street, and Charles Street.
Caseville has informed us that a new process will soon be implemented to help eliminate the seasonal water discoloration that has occurred during the summer months.
Thank you to everyone who participated in and attended this year’s Memorial Day Service at Veterans Park. Your support helped make it a meaningful and memorable event.
Don’t forget to visit our Farmers Market every Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Village municipal parking lot.
I hope you and your family enjoy a safe, fun, and memorable summer.
Sincerely,
Michael LePage
Village President
