December Newsletter 2025
Dear Residents,
Ready or not, winter has arrived early this year. We remind residents to keep vehicles off the streets overnight so our DPW staff can clear snow efficiently. During snow events, the DPW crew is out early to clear streets as quickly as possible.
Thank you to Thumb Bank & Trust for another great kickoff-to-Christmas event held on the Friday after Thanksgiving. A wonderful time was had by all in attendance.
You may notice updates to the front of the Village and Township Hall. The shingled fascia, over 40 years old and continuously falling off, is being replaced. Completion of the project is expected within the next few weeks.
The Pigeon Food Pantry has seen a 134% increase in need since the government shutdown. We thank local churches and community members for stepping up to help replenish much-needed supplies. If you are able to contribute in any way this holiday season, please do so to help less fortunate families. We also thank the dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to keep our local food pantry stocked and serving those in need. We are truly blessed to have such caring community members giving back in meaningful ways.
A new climbing wall has been installed and is ready for use in the recreation park. The wall was donated through a Rotary Club grant, with special thanks to Troy Gunden of Lee’s Landscaping for donating his time and equipment to prepare the site and complete the finishing work.
The Village Council extends best wishes to all residents for a joyful holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year.
Sincerely,
Michael LePage
Village President

Yard Waste
Emterra’s yard waste pickup will resume on April 1, 2026. If you have branches, leaves, or grass clippings that need to be taken care of, please take them to the DPW Garage at 70 N. Main St. Please do not place tree branches, leaves, and other yard debris out in the street. It creates a hazard for other residents and can make it difficult to clear snow.
Snow Removal
To make the job of snow removal, go as smoothly as possible, please do not put your trash in the street and if possible, please wait to set your trash out until after the plows have passed. If you have a portable basketball hoop out by the street, please move it back so the plows do not hit them.
Police Parking Reminder
No parking on village streets between 2am and 6am. Violators will be ticketed.
